EA-RS Group, a provider of intelligent, sustainable, compliant fire and security systems and services, today announced that Firesec Compliance Ltd (Firesec), a specialist in Fire Safety Compliance, has joined the Group. Firesec is the sixth company EA-RS Group has acquired since last year, following the successful acquisitions of CCSS Fire & Security, AST London, UK Security Doors, Crane Communications, and the trade and assets of Essex Fire Sprinklers. The acquisitions follow the investment made into the business by Rockpool Investments and RCL 2021.
Based in Cheshire, Firesec offers a complete life safety solution by utilising leading technology to provide a systematic and transparent way of helping businesses achieve compliance with fire safety legislation. Firesec provides an array of services from fire risk assessments and electrical safety to ongoing fire protection maintenance for both commercial and industrial clients.
Guy Ellis, Partner at Rockpool said, “Rockpool are delighted to welcome John and the Firesec Compliance team into the EA-RS Group. The acquisition offers an exciting opportunity for the Group to both expand geographically and offer our customers additional support and services delivered via market-leading technology. This acquisition represents a key milestone in the buy and build strategy of EA-RS Group and showcases the impressive growth trajectory of the business in consolidating the UK fire and security market.”
Alan Wheal, CEO of EA-RS Group said, “The acquisition of Firesec Compliance provides the Group with valuable assets to continue our UK geographical reach, particularly assisting with the build of our Critical and Commercial sector business with EA-RS Fire Engineering. Firesec are a key provider of fire safety servicing and maintenance in the North-West of England and North Wales, with a separate division offering Fire Risk Assessments, meaning we can now offer our customers additional support and services.
In addition, we are delighted that John Trickett, Firesec’s founder and Managing Director, has joined the Senior Leadership Team in Central Services as Group Chief Information Officer (CIO). His new role in the Group will be to drive our digital asset management strategy, including our proprietary software Nexus – this fire compliance software system allows multi-site owners to manage their fire risk compliance across sites with full transparency. This is an exciting opportunity for EA-RS Group and is a key step in building our ‘One Solution’ offering.”
John Trickett, Managing Director of Firesec said, “I am incredibly proud to be joining the EA-RS family. Both businesses have been built on the same core values, which will continue to provide real benefits to our staff and customers. The ability to provide fire safety compliance services to existing EA-RS Group customers is a huge boost for the group, in addition to being able to offer additional critical life safety services to our existing customers.”
This acquisition supports the Group’s strategy of further broadening geographic reach, presenting new opportunities throughout the UK. In addition, Firesec further accelerates the Group’s ‘One Solution’ offering, delivering fire safety compliance internally. The combination of Firesec and EA-RS will assist in expanding both companies range of services to their respective client bases, facilitating growth and enabling synergies between all businesses within the Group.
In 2021, EARS Group was backed by Rockpool Investments and RCL, with both investors providing capital to deploy into the Group’s buy and build strategy to consolidate the UK fire and security market.
